Biology: Pre-Medicine

A Bachelor of Science in Biology: Pre-Medicine will prepare you to pursue a career in medicine and is also ideally suited for students who intend to pursue graduate studies in fields such as genetics, cell biology and molecular biology.

To complete our most specialized and rigorous major, students must earn 40 credit hours in biology, including 28 credit hours of core courses (including genetics, cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry) and 8 credit hours of biology electives.

In addition, 26 credit hours of chemistry and physics courses are required.

A minimum of 124 credit hours, including General Education hours, are required for a degree.  

The Biology: Pre-Medicine major is ideal if you're interested in pursing an advanced degree or career in medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy or veterinary medicine. Be sure to consult with your admissions counselor for advice on selecting your major based on your goals and future plans.
